I have had a pack of Delicate Dreams patterned paper for a while, but hadn't used it. Today, while planning cards for my classes, I tried out two variations. Both 1 1/4" cut from the bottom of the card front. I lined the inside of the card so different pieces of patterned paper peek out at the bottom. Which do you prefer?
In one of my classes this week, participants will have the opportunity to create this card just in time for Easter. Most will send the card to a grandchild. On another note, I'm sad to lose Shy Shamrock cardstock. I wish I had used more of it these past two years. It pairs so well with this sheet of patterned paper.
I CASEd Laura Beacham's card but made several changes. This card is for my cat-loving granddaugher who is away at college. I have a hunch she will love it. So many kitties and each one different! Blending brushes for the background and a corner rounding punch were Laura Beacham's idea, and I loved it so much I did copy that aspect of her card.
This medium slimline card comes together quickly. A little embossing, a little fussy cutting, and there you are.
When I saw the deep impressions the Lazy Daisy embossing folder creates, I knew I had to add it to my collection. For this card, I rotated the white cardstock piece 45 degrees to the left to make the flowers look more random. I used both current and retired products to create this card.
We are making this card in my VTWC paper crafting interest group this week. It will be an introduction to slimline cards. This medium sized card is simple to create--a little fussy cutting, some die cutting, a few dimensionals ... what's not to love?
When this suite was first offered for sale to demonstrators, I did not add it to my first order of the new products. Later, I changed my mind and the suite ended up in my second order. I am so glad I decided to purchase it. It is delightful to work with, and I'm featuring it in my card classes this month. Those bright colors are surely a day brightener.
I like my cards plainer than one of the card makers I follow. So while I did CASE this card, I simplified it to my taste. The card highlights the beautiful Cloud Cover blue with ribbon, cardstock, and patterned paper.
